Sophie Hamer

On February 24, 2024, a very dear client of mine passed peacefully, with her family at her side. Sophie was a special client. She was my practicum client when I was studying for my Death Doula Certification, and after I received my certification I continued to work with her for another year. With the kind permission of Sophie’s family, I am sharing her obituary and photo. As a Death Doula, I think it is important to share our grief and sorrow. I have had many quiet, reflective moments since Sophie passed, and have had only happy memories. I would like to thank the Hamers for their confidence in me, and for the honour of serving their family.

Eva Meyers

On March 27, 2024 Eva Meyers left this world in peace. While I had only worked with her for two short months, I looked forward to every visit. We shared stories, watched the Crown together, and talked about art. I will remember Eva for her beautiful smile and rosy cheeks. I loved her for the strength of her self-advocacy and for her grace. Eva’s obituary illustrated a life well-lived, and full of love.
